The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) is an international accreditation agency for the quality assurance of education (founded in 2011). IAAR is a nonprofit organisation, which created to improve the competitiveness of higher education institutions and educational programmes, including medical education on national and international levels by conducting the procedures of accreditation and academic rankings. IAAR's mission is to constantly support and promote a quality culture in education in order to increase the competitiveness of education organisations and educational programmes.
IAAR is registered in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) (since 2017) and is a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) (since 2016). The activities of IAAR comply with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and the global standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). IAAR - the first organisation among other countries in the region that received recognition from WFME in 2017, which gives the right to conduct international accreditation of medical organisations and educational programmes in accordance with international standards and contributes to the achievement of an important goal - improving the quality of education and competitiveness of graduated medical personnel. Thanks to full membership in international networks, IAAR-accredited universities receive the status of international accreditation.
IAAR conducts international accreditation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the Russian Federation, Belarus, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ukraine, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Armenia, State of Palestine, Barbados and assigns its Quality Mark in other countries.
