The Database of External Quality Assurance Results of the Asia-Pacific Quality Register (DAQAR) was presented to the public.
It has been a year since the decision on the development of DAQAR was made at the APQR Council meeting at the APQN Conference 2022 in Singapore. The first results of the project, its website and the database were presented during the APQN Conference 2023 in Bangladesh.
About 100 representatives of accreditation agencies from different countries attended the conference. The participants discussed issues related to transformative teaching and learning, blended education, digital quality assurance and university-industry linkage.
Nowadays DAQAR contains more than 4000 reports from 264 HEIs.
The main purpose of DAQAR database is to provide information on the results of external quality assurance procedures in order to increase the credibility, recognition and competitiveness of study programmes at the national and international levels. It is assumed that all agencies registered in APQR have access to the database and are able to upload their accredited programmes and higher education institutions.
Stéphane Lauwick, EQAR President (Belgium), Jan Friis, Senior Vice President for Government Affairs at CHEA (USA), Jagannath Patil, APQR Chair (India) took part in the discussion on DAQAR development.
